EASTERN European drivers are being targeted by DVLA officials. A
pilot scheme launched in Newham will see all unregistered Polish and
Lithuania cars lifted and towed away. An Audi, in Plaistow, became
the first to be taken under the new powers on Monday.
The scheme is a joint operation between the Metropolitan Police, the
DVLA, Polish and Lithuania licensing officials and Newham Council.
It aims to target thousands of illegal vehicles across London.
