Basic facilities don’t detract from this stunning coastal site.
Arthog is renowned as a centre for outdoor activities and Cregennen lakes are nearby. The village was once served by rail (the Barmouth to Ruabon service) until it closed in 1964. The line is now a footpath known as the Mawddach Trail, which is popular with walkers and cyclists.

WALK: The Maddach Trail (by Andy Armstrong)

We love this site and go most years. It’s a beautiful, peaceful site – with no mod cons. Plenty of walks and bike trails from the site, the beach is lovely for a camp fire and star gazing. Good for collecting mussels, fishing and the kids love jumping into the estuary from the rocks. It’s usually fully booked because everyone returns! We have never had a sunny week yet. Cadir Idris usually attracts the clouds above the site but when the sun does shine, it’s stunning.
