The clue is the name, because the nicest thing about this campsite really is the panoramic sea-view.
This ½ acre site is tucked away half a mile west of Appledore. The village is at the mouth of the River Torridge, about six miles west of Barnstaple.
A great location for coastal walks, although sadly the site can’t cope with motohomes much over 18ft.
Coarse and sea fishing is available nearby. Dogs are allowed, but children aren’t. There’s a pub at the village that’s OK for meals. Open from April, closes on September 1. Pitches start from £10. Call 07969 351880 for more info.

Loved this site – a truly superb place to chill out. Excellent location with basic facilities including al fresco toilet. Stunning views, particularly sunsets, coastpath accessible from site and just a short walk to Appledore village shops, pubs and other eatieries and loads of interesting “stuff” to do and look at. What more could a girl want?
Thoroughly recommended even though there is no electricity.
