A perfect spot for canoeists and anglers.
This is a unique campsite, with spacious pitches, beside the River Wye.
Considered among the best places in the UK to canoe, the site is inside 110 acres of parkland and woodland.
Canadian canoes are available onsite for hire. Take care with kids as the river-bank is a bit steep in places.
Otters and kingfishers are regularly seen along this stretch of the river, which is good for fishing. The local tackle shop offers angling advice and a ticket.
The best pitches are on the grass next to the river, although not all have river access, so ask.
Right outside the campsite entrance are miles of forest track for rambling, cycling and dig walks. Free maps are available from the campsite reception.
The area is a good base to visit Hereford, Ledbury, Malvern, Monmouth, Ross-on Wye and the Wye Valley.
Most of the 120 pitches are hand-standing, but pack the leveling blocks just in case.
The site has its own shop. Pubs and shops are within a mile and a half, although the country road can be dangerous if walking back at night, so take care.
Tents are accepted. Open from March until the end of November. web link
