One for wildlife watchers, with riverside walks, lakes and footpaths. Fishing is available in the Henlow Bridge Lakes, the River Ivel, and the River Hiz.
There’s a tackle shop on-site, as well as a shower, loo and hook-up power. A railway line runs along the bottom of the rally field and the main road is close, but noise isn’t too bad.
Shops and pub within a short walk. web link

A site for fishing, walking and cycling. Pitches to the side of the house offer great views over the River Tame and the neighbouring lake. Keen swimmers sometimes take a dip in the river. There’s a pub at the end of the road.
A great camp base to visit the popular theme park Drayton Manor. Some campers have complained about traffic noise from the M41, but we didn’t find it too bad.
Electric hook-ups are available.

The Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal is right next to site, and the towpath leads passed the loch to a pub. Kidderminster is bit further along the towpath. Fishing tickets for the canal are available on site.
The waterway was built to service the Black Country and Birmingham, both of which are easy to get to from here. A great location for walking and cycling. Wyre Forest is also near, with its visitor set in one of the largest surviving areas of semi-natural woodland in the country. web link

Views across the lake, but a shame no waterside sports are allowed here, either on the river or the lake.
Still, one person’s loss, is another’s gain. This is a great site if you just want to take in the peace and quite or go for a stroll.
Fishing is available during the summer months for small day-fee payable to the site owner.

Camp next to a well stocked carp fishing lake with 26 pegs. A gastro pub (The Wellington Inn) is within walking distance across the fields and a Garden Centre and Queenswood Country Park are close by.

Named after the Millpond it rests alongside, this is a great site for fishing, walking and exploring the Wye Valley and Malvern Hills. Slimbridge Wetland Centre has over 300 hectares and a programme of walks and events throughout the year. more info

There’s a beautiful justification to Bosworth being No1 in my alphabetic list of more than 1,500 campsites on water. Because this is where it all started.
.
I’d asked the owner back in 2003 whether there were other sites like his. He quite honestly replied ‘no’, although I thought he was fibbing. What I’d actually meant to ask was, ‘are there other sites on lakes, rivers etc.’.
.
His insistence Bosworth was unique compelled me to find and list every campsite in the UK from which you can fish, swim or boat within a spit of the missus’s loving, but watchful eye.
.
We’ve discovered a lot of good sites since then. But there’s still nothing quite like pulling a 8lb carp from the Bosworth lake in the morning, canoeing with the kids in the afternoon, buying fish n chips from Market Bosworth at tea-time and then watching the August sun fall over the lake island while sipping in cold pint outside the clubhouse.
.
They say nothing lasts ever. Let Bosworth be the exception.

The site is unique, with this section of the non-tidal Thames considered one of the best canoeing areas in England.
Expect to pay as little as £5.50 (50p charge for awning) – one of the best value sites around. Oxford is short drive away. Dogs are allowed.
